For our 25th wedding anniversary, my wife gifted me with a new fly fishing rod. Apparently she spoke with different people who fly fish as well, and did a pretty good amount of research on the best that was out there. Well, she did a really good job, because this is probably my favorite gift that I’ve ever received.
All of her investigating led her to purchase a G. Loomis IMX-PRO Fly Rod from Trouts Fly Fishing. The general consensus from everyone she talked to was that it was one of the best. She also chose the company because of all of the service and resources it provides.
Now that our kids are grown and out of the house, my wife and I are able to pursue our own hobbies independently, just because we have more time. She visits museums with friends and I fly fish, sometimes with friends, sometimes without. I’m sure the gift was a ploy to get rid of me more often, but I’m totally ok with that.
My wife did a wonderful job picking out a fishing rod for me. She really went all out and got the correct size and everything without having to extract any additional information from me. That just goes to show how well she knows me. It’s definitely the best fly fishing rod I’ve ever owned.
It’s such a well made product and exceeded any expectations that I’d have for any fly fishing rod. Casting is super smooth. I never have any worries about anything going wrong with it.
My fishing trips are basically stress free, which keeps me out there longer. Again, which was probably my wife’s goal, but you won’t hear any complaining from me.
For anyone who enjoys fly fishing, this rod is above and beyond the others. I can’t recommend it enough. I couldn’t list a con if I tried. I’m very happy with my results.
